Day 1: Painted Paper Bag Creation
-
Time: 11am-1pm
-
Begin your artistic journey by transforming ordinary paper bags into unique, painted canvases. You'll learn various painting techniques, including color blending, layering, and texturing, to create rich, vibrant papers that will serve as the foundation for your collages. Experiment with different brushstrokes, patterns, and color palettes to design a collection of customized papers that reflect your individual style.
Day 2: Collage Creation
-
Time: 11am-2pm
-
With your painted paper bags ready, dive into the world of collage on the second day. You'll explore composition, layering, and the use of negative space as you piece together your artwork.
-
Guided by the instructor, artist Leah Tomaino, you will learn how to arrange and adhere your painted pieces to create dynamic, textured collages. By the end of the workshop you'll have a completed piece that showcases your creativity and the unique materials you've crafted.
What to Bring: All materials will be provided. We have reference photos here or you can come with your own inspirational photo that would be great! Also, feel free to bring any additional papers or objects you’d like to incorporate into your collage.
