About the Owner
Larissa Grass : Printmaker & Owner of Art Studio Hamptons
Tyler School of Art, Temple University - BFA, Printmaking
A native of Long Island, my passion for the fine arts started at a very young age. After receiving my BFA in Printmaking from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, I entered the education field. Tyler gave me an opportunity to travel to Rome where I studied with master printmakers exploring modern and ancient printing techniques. It was there that I fell in love with the medium.
I am moved by the process of printmaking, finding a true passion for creating the matrix. Carving, scraping, burning and preparing a printing plate fuels my work. I see the plate as its own sculptural entity. The work I create is inspired by the patterns, textures and forms I notice in nature.
Since 2001 my role in the art community has centered around education. At the core of my educational philosophy is the belief that “art is for everyone”; any age, any ability, and race, gender, or economic status- we all deserve to live a creative life.
