Join printmaker Larissa Grass for an evening of printing!
Students in this workshop will explore the art of Tetra Pak printing! Students will learn how to turn empty juice, milk, or soup cartons into reusable, eco-friendly printmaking plates. Participants will learn to score, peel and etch designs into the carton's metallic or waxy surface, then apply ink to create textured, etching prints using a printing press!
**All materials are Earth friendly & safe for everyone.
This workshop is perfect for all levels of makers. It is calming technique taught in a warm and welcoming studio atmosphere.
More about Larissa Grass
A native of Long Island, my passion for the fine arts started at a very young age. I received a portfolio scholarship to attend Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, where I obtained my B.F.A. in Printmaking.
Tyler gave me an opportunity to travel to Rome where I studied with master printmakers exploring modern and ancient printing techniques. It was there that I fell in love with the medium.
I am moved by the process of printmaking, finding a true passion for creating the matrix. Carving, scraping, burning and preparing a printing plate fuels my work. I see the plate as its own sculptural entity.
The work I create is inspired by the patterns, textures and forms I notice in nature. Most importantly I am excited by color. It’s thrilling to see it spread across a surface, mix with another color or complement it. The images I use are taken from my interactions with nature. When I meet a creature or come across a botanical it’s my goal to record that moment.
